Terrado Hoteles
Redesigning a website to increase tourism in Chile
With over 30 years of experience, Terrado Hoteles is a leading hospitality brand in northern Chile, known for its exceptional accommodations and service. Operating hotels in Iquique, Antofagasta, and Rancagua, and with an upcoming location in Santiago, Terrado Hoteles has built a reputation for providing unforgettable experiences to its guests.
As a UX/UI designer, I conducted research and redesigned the website to enhance information architecture and ensure a seamless user experience. I effectively communicated strategic decisions to stakeholders, aligning design improvements with project goals.
Problem Statement
Hoteles Terrado users struggled to navigate the site on mobile devices, making it difficult to find key information and often resulting in abandoned bookings.
Solution
A redesigned website aimed at increasing conversion rates through an optimized "Reserve" call-to-action, improving responsiveness, and ensuring easy access to information about promotions, events, and hotel amenities.
Challenge
The booking process was lengthy and disorganized, leading to user confusion and a high rate of abandonment throughout the flow.
Solution
I simplified the booking process by reducing the number of steps and reorganizing the information for better clarity. A summary section was added before the payment confirmation to highlight key details, including prices, images, and prominent call-to-action buttons.
Impact
The redesign incorporated a clear and easy-to-find "Book Now" button in the navigation, a mobile-optimized responsive design, clear visual cards to organize content, and a streamlined booking process.
Benefits:
Improved clarity and simplicity, making the site more intuitive and navigation smoother.
Reduced frustration and abandonment rates.
Enhanced user-friendliness, offering a seamless experience.
Quick access to key information, improving efficiency.
